Barbara Jordan Endeavors Corporation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which has been in existence for eight (8) years and growing strong. The goal and focus of the foundation is to provide empowerment through education and employment for people with disabilities. BJE Corporation will provide employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Additional Programs offered are the Senior Citizens Rising Star Award program, which recognizes Senior Citizens in Houston and surrounding communities, the Encouraging Business Award, for a company’s commitment to employing people with disabilities and the Excellence Advocate Award, which solicits scholarship sponsors. BJE Corporation offer many other programs within the organization that will ensure “Barrier Free” Living and Learning for Students with Disabilities.
The BJE Corporation also guides individuals in becoming disability advocates and teaches them to be proud of who they are. BJE Corporation encourages people to address disability issues, which assist them to increase community awareness. BJE Corporation is dedicated to promoting and encouraging high expectations, self-esteem and self reliance for people with disabilities, which enables them to become self-sufficient, productive citizen and enjoy a better quality of life.
The BJE Corporation has demonstrated when individuals, institutions, chambers of commerce, corporations, and businesses work together for change, we can find solutions and use our collective powers to build stronger communities to provide a brighter future for people with disabilities.
